Childcare and Learning Center
To offer parents and their children peace of mind for child care, a joyful learning and playing environment to further the education they receive at home. Our goal is to create a harmonious, caring, and compassionate environment guided by highly ethical principles. Equally important to our goal is our advocacy to promote wellbeing and healthy living habits to the children.
We are a family oriented group of professionals with a high degree of responsibility and a desire to offer quality and loving service. We will provide loving and secure care to all children residing in Waterloo and surrounding areas. Our vision is backed up since 2006 operating a child care in the Waterloo area, and proud to state we have never had any incident. Our premises will not be packed as we want the kids to be comfortable and receive personalized attention. We will create an atmosphere of respect where every kid value friendship, no matter what the background is.
Co-Founder and Program Director
I have worked as child care provider from 2006 in the provinces of Quebec and Ontario. I hold a degree in Information Technology and a Diploma in Child Care Education.
My passion for children and my roots from an ethical family of teachers set me in the right path to offer child care to the parents in the Kitchener/Waterloo and surrounding areas. I can speak three languages, English, Spanish, and basic French. I heartily enjoy being with kids and to spend time with them to teach while playing and having fun. My experience includes volunteer work in public schools, helping teachers in all school activities. In addition I have experience working for IT companies, and, teaching Spanish, English, and Computer to kids.
Co-Founder and Learning Strategy Director
I have more than 12 years of experience working for IT companies in North America and Europe e.g. Compuware, Blackberry, Florida Power Corporation, and Pramerica Systems Ireland.
Besides my direct IT work experience, I have taught computers, math, and hold an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher certification. I have written, designed, and implemented educational programs in IT and educational settings. I hold a BSc in Computing Engineering, a BSc in Pure Math.
Child Care Assistant
My name is Leonardo Ferrer, I am 16 years old, and I enjoy working and interacting with kids. I have worked for Chikitos Childcare for more than 4 years now assisting with teaching kids Spanish, English, and basic Math, among other activities. I love sports and started playing basketball with my Dad when I was only 6 years old. I have also being part of KWBA (K/W Basketball Association) for the last almost 10 years and am part of SJAM high school basketball team.
I play piano and have had private classes for the last 8 years and currently progressing to level 9. That will help me consider enrolment with the Ontario Conservatory of Music. For the last 3 years I have done volunteered work for KidsAbility Centre for Child Development, which I have found highly rewarding to grow as a teenager.
My future aspirations are to study biology and kinesiology, with the end goal to become a Medical Doctor in Sports Medicine.
The childcare opening hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The learning center (courses, extra programs, etc.) hours are from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
